What’s happening in August?
With July now officially over (I know, where did that one go?) it’s time to take a look at the key dates from the August social media calendar. Could you incorporate some of these dates into your social media strategy or even bring them into the workplace? Take a look and see what key events are taking place in the August Social Media Calendar 2018!
A month of the arts
We head straight into festival season, which is kicked off this month by the largest arts festival in the world, the Edinburgh Fringe festival. The festival broke records last year by selling 2,696,884 tickets to 53,232 performances of 3,398 shows seen by 450,000 people! An incredible feat. The festival lasts until the 27th, bringing a huge array of entertainment to August. Other notable festivals happening in August is Rize Festival (formally known as v festival) and Reading and Leeds.
Attention Animal Lovers
For any crazy cat people out there, you’ll have your day on the 8th which marks international cat day, a day which will have many cat people puuring. However, if you’re not quite a cat lover, you’ll only have to wait a rough couple of weeks to celebrate National Dog Day on the 26th. If cats and dogs aren’t your thing, or if you’re an animal lover in general, then there’s also world elephant day on the 12th!
A month for results
August means only one thing for students…the dreaded results day! For year 11s and 13s, there are two dates they surely won’t be forgetting, whether it be celebrating or commiserating, the 16th is A-level results day and GCSE results follow on the 23rd, either way to all students getting their results, best of luck from the team here!
So there’s plenty of big dates to get your teeth into this month. Which ones will you be talking about on social this month?
